VIRTUAL SILAT PROPOSAL

Ibero-Latin American Symposium on Terminology (SILAT): Anatomy, Histology and Embryology

Our proposal consists of virtual teaching by several Ibero-Latin American experts on Anatomy, Histology and Embryology Terminology through the use of new communication technologies.

We propose the use of the Internet, especially social networks like Facebook, to create voluntary teaching groups in Anatomy, Histology and Embryology. Terminology in Spanish and Portuguese is translated into English and Latin.

Our initiative will enrich the Ibero-Latin American Symposium of Anatonomy, Histology and Embryology Terminology held at several American universities. We need to unify and update the terms to prevent confusion and ultimately make the teaching and learning processes easier. Reaching a global audience has certainly proven to be a great challenge, but we strive to work in order to reach the right and sole denomination for each anatomical, histological and embryological structure.
